Vase project

My first real attempt at shading. The prof. Mike was very helpful with that and other aspects of it such as how it really looks compared to how i want it to look when i'm drawing to make it easier for myself.

New sketches. Getting better at drawing?

Tried drawing a person again after understanding more about how to get the proportions and angles more accurate. I think it came out okay. He kind of looks like a caveman, but then, so does the guy i drew.

I think the proportions are fairly accurate. This took me much longer than the man i drew above. I tried to draw my beautiful friend, and i like the outcome, overall she turned out looking more like a zombie... I couldn't figure out exactly how to fix it up to make it look more like her.

Sketches again

As i wrote on the paper, too hard.. I'm not sure why. Maybe i just wasn't feeling it at the time? But it seemed near impossible to just draw this plant and the pot it was in, correctly, that is.

One of my first tries at a little perspective. I tried to do some shading and get the gist of the picture i was seeing on the wall in front of me.

My roommate's drawers. The proportions on this were much harder than i thought they would be.

New sketches

A light on a wall in a classroom. Much harder than it looks... I tried to get the gist of the idea.

A door inside of a mini tunnel. Took a long time getting proportions and looks right.
My first time since starting the class of Drawing to draw a real person. I didn't really know how to do the hair, but i think it came out sort of okay... as an overall picture.
The table in the front of the room in one of my classes. Getting the legs of it to look right and be proportional was exceptionally hard for some reason.

Showing progress of Master Copy

When i first started, I was focusing so much on the smaller details than the whole picture. I'm trying to work on it more the other way around now. However, i still plan to keep everything in tact, except now it will be after the beginning of the gestures are drawn.

Finished product. It took more time than expected. I think i got the proportions fairly accurate. The leaves and shadows were especially hard to do.

Definitions and more gestures

Angle Dropping - Holding up a pencil, finding a standard and starting to transfer measurements to the paper.

Plumb Line - A line with a plumb attached to it, used for finding the depth of water or determining the vertical of an upright surface.

Level Line - A line lying in a level surface is a level line. It is thus a curved line normal to the plumb at all points.

Comparative Measuring - Using a certain object in the picture to relate to another, using it to make a more accurate size as well as be in the correct position. Example : Three Oranges stacked up are as tall as that vase.

My roommate's lamp with his hat hanging on it. I think i had gotten a little more realistic by now.

My roommate's television. I was trying to show how it was facing at an angle.

My pillow. I tried to show the major details of it. Drew too dark in some areas.
